[REVIEW] HAPLE GRAPESEED OIL

 Hi fellas!

Photo by Viva Luna Studios on Unsplash

Since I have an acne-prone and oily skin, I tend to find products that have claims like, "oil-free", "matte finish", or "non-comedogenic". For moisturizers, I would always pick the gel or lotion type, so they would feel much lighter on my skin. However, after the periods of trials and errors, and also after watching some videos, I find that keep the skin's hydration is the key of healthy and problem-free skin. Started from there, I began to find products that less harmful to my skin.

But, among the various skincare products, like face cleansers or serums, I didn't think of using face oil until I saw Liah Yoo's video about types of face oil and curing acne with face oils. Then, I started searching for face oil recommendation through the articles online.

What is face oil and how does it work?

The main function of face oil is definitely to give moisture to our skin. In addition, besides moisturizing the skin, there are other functions of face oil depends on the extract. For example, to reduce fine wrinkles or to control the sebum production. Then, how does face oil work? Face oil helps to repair the skin barrier. Moreover, it acts as a supplement to natural oil on your skin. Moreover, face oil has emollient and occlusive characteristics.

Types of face oil

Basically, there are two types of oil, which are contained with oleic acid and linoleic acid. The characteristics of oleic acid are greasy, thick, and heavy. These characteristics are suitable with dry or mature skin that needs extra moisture to make the skin more nourished and moisturized. Examples of oils with high content of oleic acid are avocado oil, hazelnut oil, and olive oil. On the other hand, oils with high linoleic acid are fast-absorbing, lightweight, and have less residue. As a result, they are oily and acne prone skin's best friend. Examples of oils with high content of linoleic acid are hemp seed oil, rosehip oil, and grapeseed oil.

A glimpse of grapeseed oil

Grapeseed oil is made from pressed grape seeds. Grapeseed oil contains vitamin E, vitamin C, and fatty acids. And, grapeseed oil also contains antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Grapeseed oil is mainly used by those who have oily and acne prone skin because it contains linoleic acid, which means the oil feels lighter on the face. Then, it can heal skin problems related to acne and pores

Introducing Haple Grapeseed Oil

Nowadays, lots of local products release their face oil lineup. One of them is from Haple. Haple is the first skincare brand that launched face oil. Haple has several face oil variants, such as Jojoba, Avocado, Rice Bran, Hazelnut, and Almond. The variant that I'm gonna review is the grapeseed one. What does Haple Grapeseed Oil do on my skin? Let's jump to the review!

 Packaging

Haple Grapeseed Oil is packed with dark-colored serum bottle. For your information, most serums and face oils are packed with dark bottle to prevent the light exposure and oxygen that can degrade the quality of serums and face oils.  On the front part of the bottle, there is a brand sticker that contains the brand name, the product name, information of Haple's website and Instagram account, and the netto (30 ml). Then, the bottle is packed with a brown-colored box. On its Instagram story, Haple said that the box is made from kraft paper. Kraft paper is one of paper types that considered as recyclable and biodegradable material. So, it is in line with the brand's concern to environment.

On the left side, there are the information of the brand's social media (website and Instagram) and its claim as animals and cruelty free product. Then, on the right side, we can get the information of the oil itself. Also, we can see hiragana writings and branches illustration. Then, if we take a look at the back of this box, we will find the product claim, how to use, the manufacture, and expiration date.

Claim

Haple Grapeseed Oil claims that it can heal skin problems regarding to acne, such as healing, soothing the skin, and reduce the spot. Other than that, this face oil is able to clear blackheads, whiteheads, and prevent wrinkles. As a result, we will achieve healthy, moist, and glowy skin. By the way, besides as moisturizer, you can use Haple Grapeseed Oil as make up base, hair vitamin, and cleansing oil.

How to Use

Please make sure that you apply the product with the light texture first to avoid the face oil sits on the top of your skin. The best way to apply face oil is to put some drops on your palm. Then, rub the palms until they become warm. After that, gently dab your face with the warmed palms. If it's necessary, you can do light face massage as well. I mainly use Haple Grapeseed Oil at night as part of my night skincare routine.

My Review

Based on my experience after using Haple Grapeseed Oil for two months, my skin feels moisturized after waking up in the morning. Also, the whiteheads barely appear on my nose and my chin. The acne scars slowly disappear too. Then, this face oil heals my skin from acne as well. Although, it doesn't work instantly to reduce the acne. But, I still can see the wrinkle on my smile line. Maybe, I should go for other products that have more powerful ingredients.

Where to get?

You can purchase Haple Grapeseed Oil on your favorite e-commerce site! The price is also affordable, only 50.000 IDR.

That's all for my review. Thank you for reading! See you on the next post!

Dress Up as K-Pop Album: Sechskies Edition

Hi fellas!

This time, I want to post something different, which is "Dress-Up Challenge". This dress-up challenge uses K-Pop as the main theme. I choose K-Pop because I am a K-Pop fan. Then, for the group, I choose Sechskies. Why? Because Sechskies is my favorite boyband. Since it's my favorite group, I already familiar with the colors of their albums. Besides, I want to start this challenge by using something that I like.

Sechskies is K-pop first generation's boy group. They made their debut on April 15th, 1997 and active for three years with four albums. On May 20th, 2000, they disbanded and started their solo career. Then, 16 years later, they reunited through a variety show named, "Infinite Challenge". After the reunion, they signed a contract with YG Entertainment on May 10th, 2016.
For the outfit colors, I mainly took the inspiration from the cover of digital albums. The ones that you see on music-streaming platforms. However, there are two looks that took the inspiration from physical albums. For your information, I only have one album, which is Another Light that released in 2017. Without further ado, let's see the representation of each album! Enjoy!

1. 2016 RE-ALBUM

This is the first album after they reunited. It released on December 2016. It consists of 10 remake version of their songs. This album offers fresh feel of their original songs. I have many favorite songs from this album, such as Heartbreak, Couple, and Com' Back. For the color, it has two main colors, which are yellow and black. This is the easiest mix-and-match to begin with. I tied the tee to make the look less plain. Then, I chose the cutout boots to give the edgy touch and I also added a tote bag as an accessories.

2. THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY

This is the album was made to celebrate their 20th debut anniversary. Just like the previous album, this album consists of remake version of their songs, but there are also three new songs, which are Sad Song, Be Well, and Three Words. For this look, I used the physical album version. Moreover, if we see the cover, we can see the gradation of lilac and baby blue. Unfortunately, since I don't have a lilac top, I wore this purple sweatshirt that I got from my mom's closet. I think the look would be better if I have a hologram-colored waistbag and lilac top.

3. ANOTHER LIGHT

This is the 5th album which has been promised a long time ago. At first, they promised to release the 5th album in 2000. However, the group was disbanded in that year, so they released their 5th album in 2017 to fulfill their promise to their fans. The physical album cover is dominated with black and white color. This cover become my inspiration for creating this look.

4. ALL FOR YOU

This is the latest album from Sechskies. This album was released on January 28th, 2020. All For You is the first album where Sechskies performs as a four-member group. All For You has a title track with the same title as the album, All For You. If you take a look at this cover, it is dominated with navy color with mustard-colored font as the accent. When creating this look, I was confused because I don't have a piece of yellow bottom, but then I remembered that I have this batik culotte which has mustard color and stripes pattern. Besides mustard color, we can see other colors too, like red, black, and green. This is such a unique culotte because it also has a kind of cover that makes it look like a skirt.

Which style that you like the most? Or maybe you have your favorite song from Sechskies? Tell me through the comment section!

Sincerely yours,

Nazz

Sushi x Denim

Hi fellas!

Starting from this week, we're going to enter the "New Normal" era. It means that some public places will open as usual but with a lot more preparation, such as keeping the distance of each person, providing hand sanitizers, etc. Furthermore, the citizens are required to wear mask when doing activities outside. Then, we must bring our personal equipment, like hand sanitizer, tissue, water bottle, and lunch box. Is there anyone of you who starts going back to office this week? Don't forget to follow the New Normal protocol and stay safe, okay?

As the title says "Sushi x Denim", some of you might wonder about the relation between sushi and denim because they don't relate to each other. We know that sushi is a meal, meanwhile denim is fabric. However, in this post, I try to combine them all. That's right! I paired this adorable sushi sweatshirt with denim bolero to add little color to my outfit. After that, I paired the top with black culotte. For the shoes, I chose this Skechers Flex Appeal because the color match my denim bolero and the pink shoelace makes the look a bit "pop". Oh yeah, I also added navy socks to match the sneakers. Lastly, for the accessories, I wore a brown belt. However, after seeing the pictures, I think I should change the belt with a lighter color instead of this brown belt.

Work From Home Lookbook

Hi fellas!

How's your self quarantine days? Do you discover something new these days? Wherever you are, I hope that you are safe and healthy always! By the time I write this, we have been staying home for around two months. Since our activities are mainly done through our home, adjustments become inevitable. Somehow, we must set some corners in our home into a decent workplace or classroom. For the entrepreneurs, they create adjustments to their business plan and try to provide things that highly needed by customers in the time like this, such as hand sanitizers, masks and face shields that provided by some beauty and fashion brands.

Moreover, if we look through our social media account, we will not only see the updates regarding COVID-19, but also campaigns for staying productive in our home. The brands and influencers give us tips on how we should manage our time to get things done at home. I personally think that being productive in our home is beneficial. Besides doing our main job, we can dig into new hobbies and unlock our potential since we have plenty of time. However, we must know our limit and allow ourselves to rest when we feel exhausted. Remember, it's not a glow-up contest.

You know, at first, I had a list of things that I want to do. Also, I set my so-called "quarantine goals", meaning that I work on certain things and I hope I get the result after the self-quarantine period is done. I felt that I got a little spark, an energy to spend my days wisely. I did things like, exercising, cleaning every corner of my house, learning a new language. You name it. Although, there were times where I don't feel like doing anything besides laying down and scrolling my cellphone. But, most of the time, I could handle those feelings so that I could put myself to get my things done. However, these days, I feel confused, guilty, unmotivated, and angry. Then, my mind will full of thoughts like, "Why is it so hard for me to be focus when writing my thesis? Why can't I use the time carefully? Why is it hard to fulfill my to-do list despite the adequate time I have? I should've slept earlier, so I can wake up earlier and I will have enough time to do this and that." Does anyone feel the same way as I do?

Furthermore, in terms of clothing, since we do our job from home, our outfit choices might shifted from blazers and shirts into loungewear set and pajamas. Some of us might not putting on our makeup and doing our hair like our working days. Or, otherwise, we keep dressing up and putting on our makeup as if we want to go to the office.

By the way, do you know that putting on our makeup and dressing up once in a while can be useful to lift our mood? Besides improving our mood, they can be a way to overcome the unprecedented period. From some articles I've read, dressing up is able to make us feel good. If we feel good, then, it boosts our energy to finish our daily task. Besides setting our mood, dressing up can give us a sense of control. Also, we can do little experiment by trying the new style and be creative with our items. Another way to kill the time, right? To gain the inspiration, you can surf the Pinterest and type the style or outfit that you want to try. Don't forget to pin your findings on the board!

During this period, my go-to outfits are t-shirt, shorts, and pajamas, but, I occasionally put my shirt and jeans on. Also, I draw my eyebrow and put on my lip cream even though I only travel from bedroom to my working space. Honestly, I feel beautiful and empowered. Then, I will be able to finish, like two out of three things that listed in my to-do list.

Two weeks ago, I challenged myself to dress up more often so that I can create a lookbook from my outfits in a week. I got the ideas mostly from Pinterest and from my closet as well. Here are my "work from home" lookbook. Hopefully, it gives you ideas on what to wear when working from home!
