 Hi fellas!

Since I have an acne-prone and oily skin, I tend to find products that have claims like, "oil-free", "matte finish", or "non-comedogenic". For moisturizers, I would always pick the gel or lotion type, so they would feel much lighter on my skin. However, after the periods of trials and errors, and also after watching some videos, I find that keep the skin's hydration is the key of healthy and problem-free skin. Started from there, I began to find products that less harmful to my skin.

But, among the various skincare products, like face cleansers or serums, I didn't think of using face oil until I saw Liah Yoo's video about types of face oil and curing acne with face oils. Then, I started searching for face oil recommendation through the articles online.

What is face oil and how does it work?

The main function of face oil is definitely to give moisture to our skin. In addition, besides moisturizing the skin, there are other functions of face oil depends on the extract. For example, to reduce fine wrinkles or to control the sebum production. Then, how does face oil work? Face oil helps to repair the skin barrier. Moreover, it acts as a supplement to natural oil on your skin. Moreover, face oil has emollient and occlusive characteristics.

Types of face oil

Basically, there are two types of oil, which are contained with oleic acid and linoleic acid. The characteristics of oleic acid are greasy, thick, and heavy. These characteristics are suitable with dry or mature skin that needs extra moisture to make the skin more nourished and moisturized. Examples of oils with high content of oleic acid are avocado oil, hazelnut oil, and olive oil. On the other hand, oils with high linoleic acid are fast-absorbing, lightweight, and have less residue. As a result, they are oily and acne prone skin's best friend. Examples of oils with high content of linoleic acid are hemp seed oil, rosehip oil, and grapeseed oil.

A glimpse of grapeseed oil

Grapeseed oil is made from pressed grape seeds. Grapeseed oil contains vitamin E, vitamin C, and fatty acids. And, grapeseed oil also contains antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Grapeseed oil is mainly used by those who have oily and acne prone skin because it contains linoleic acid, which means the oil feels lighter on the face. Then, it can heal skin problems related to acne and pores

Introducing Haple Grapeseed Oil

Nowadays, lots of local products release their face oil lineup. One of them is from Haple. Haple is the first skincare brand that launched face oil. Haple has several face oil variants, such as Jojoba, Avocado, Rice Bran, Hazelnut, and Almond. The variant that I'm gonna review is the grapeseed one. What does Haple Grapeseed Oil do on my skin? Let's jump to the review!

 Packaging

Haple Grapeseed Oil is packed with dark-colored serum bottle. For your information, most serums and face oils are packed with dark bottle to prevent the light exposure and oxygen that can degrade the quality of serums and face oils.  On the front part of the bottle, there is a brand sticker that contains the brand name, the product name, information of Haple's website and Instagram account, and the netto (30 ml). Then, the bottle is packed with a brown-colored box. On its Instagram story, Haple said that the box is made from kraft paper. Kraft paper is one of paper types that considered as recyclable and biodegradable material. So, it is in line with the brand's concern to environment.

On the left side, there are the information of the brand's social media (website and Instagram) and its claim as animals and cruelty free product. Then, on the right side, we can get the information of the oil itself. Also, we can see hiragana writings and branches illustration. Then, if we take a look at the back of this box, we will find the product claim, how to use, the manufacture, and expiration date.

Claim

Haple Grapeseed Oil claims that it can heal skin problems regarding to acne, such as healing, soothing the skin, and reduce the spot. Other than that, this face oil is able to clear blackheads, whiteheads, and prevent wrinkles. As a result, we will achieve healthy, moist, and glowy skin. By the way, besides as moisturizer, you can use Haple Grapeseed Oil as make up base, hair vitamin, and cleansing oil.

How to Use

Please make sure that you apply the product with the light texture first to avoid the face oil sits on the top of your skin. The best way to apply face oil is to put some drops on your palm. Then, rub the palms until they become warm. After that, gently dab your face with the warmed palms. If it's necessary, you can do light face massage as well. I mainly use Haple Grapeseed Oil at night as part of my night skincare routine.

My Review

Based on my experience after using Haple Grapeseed Oil for two months, my skin feels moisturized after waking up in the morning. Also, the whiteheads barely appear on my nose and my chin. The acne scars slowly disappear too. Then, this face oil heals my skin from acne as well. Although, it doesn't work instantly to reduce the acne. But, I still can see the wrinkle on my smile line. Maybe, I should go for other products that have more powerful ingredients.

Where to get?

You can purchase Haple Grapeseed Oil on your favorite e-commerce site! The price is also affordable, only 50.000 IDR.

That's all for my review. Thank you for reading! See you on the next post!
