How's your self quarantine days? Do you discover something new these days? Wherever you are, I hope that you are safe and healthy always! By the time I write this, we have been staying home for around two months. Since our activities are mainly done through our home, adjustments become inevitable. Somehow, we must set some corners in our home into a decent workplace or classroom. For the entrepreneurs, they create adjustments to their business plan and try to provide things that highly needed by customers in the time like this, such as hand sanitizers, masks and face shields that provided by some beauty and fashion brands. 

Moreover, if we look through our social media account, we will not only see the updates regarding COVID-19, but also campaigns for staying productive in our home. The brands and influencers give us tips on how we should manage our time to get things done at home. I personally think that being productive in our home is beneficial. Besides doing our main job, we can dig into new hobbies and unlock our potential since we have plenty of time. However, we must know our limit and allow ourselves to rest when we feel exhausted. Remember, it's not a glow-up contest. 

You know, at first, I had a list of things that I want to do. Also, I set my so-called "quarantine goals", meaning that I work on certain things and I hope I get the result after the self-quarantine period is done. I felt that I got a little spark, an energy to spend my days wisely. I did things like, exercising, cleaning every corner of my house, learning a new language. You name it. Although, there were times where I don't feel like doing anything besides laying down and scrolling my cellphone. But, most of the time, I could handle those feelings so that I could put myself to get my things done. However, these days, I feel confused, guilty, unmotivated, and angry. Then, my mind will full of thoughts like, "Why is it so hard for me to be focus when writing my thesis? Why can't I use the time carefully? Why is it hard to fulfill my to-do list despite the adequate time I have? I should've slept earlier, so I can wake up earlier and I will have enough time to do this and that." Does anyone feel the same way as I do?

Furthermore, in terms of clothing, since we do our job from home, our outfit choices might shifted from blazers and shirts into loungewear set and pajamas. Some of us might not putting on our makeup and doing our hair like our working days. Or, otherwise, we keep dressing up and putting on our makeup as if we want to go to the office. 

By the way, do you know that putting on our makeup and dressing up once in a while can be useful to lift our mood? Besides improving our mood, they can be a way to overcome the unprecedented period. From some articles I've read, dressing up is able to make us feel good. If we feel good, then, it boosts our energy to finish our daily task. Besides setting our mood, dressing up can give us a sense of control. Also, we can do little experiment by trying the new style and be creative with our items. Another way to kill the time, right? To gain the inspiration, you can surf the Pinterest and type the style or outfit that you want to try. Don't forget to pin your findings on the board!

During this period, my go-to outfits are t-shirt, shorts, and pajamas, but, I occasionally put my shirt and jeans on. Also, I draw my eyebrow and put on my lip cream even though I only travel from bedroom to my working space. Honestly, I feel beautiful and empowered. Then, I will be able to finish, like two out of three things that listed in my to-do list.

Two weeks ago, I challenged myself to dress up more often so that I can create a lookbook from my outfits in a week. I got the ideas mostly from Pinterest and from my closet as well. Here are my "work from home" lookbook. Hopefully, it gives you ideas on what to wear when working from home!

By the way, It's been a long time since the last time I write any fashion-related stuff here. And, here I am now, serving you the latest fashion post! Yaaayy!!

Firstly, I will talk about printed or graphic t-shirt. Who doesn't love t-shirt? It's versatile and comfortable item to begin with. You can pair it with various fashion item and accessories to create a certain look. Moreover, graphic t-shirt can act as a statement item or a way to show some love to our idol, perhaps.

Here I will show you how I style my KAWS x Sesame Street Graphic T-shirt by Uniqlo. I will style this tee in two ways. What kind of look that I create? Keep reading to find out!

The 1st Look

In the first look, I pair this tee with red tartan shirt to add a colorful twist in my look. Then, I wear my Rubi white sneakers to complete it. Then, to enhance the casual look, you can add denim jacket. If you have accessories like small bracelets or a bucket hat, you can wear them as well!

7 Bulan Bersama Avoskin Miraculous Refining Toner: A Review

Sebagai pemilik kulit oily dan acne prone, jerawat dan bekasnya itu selalu datang dan pergi dari wajahku. Long story short, setelah mencoba berbagai macam produk, ada satu produk skincare yang bikin aku penasaran, yaitu exfoliating toner. Aku baca berbagai review dan website mengenai exfoliating toner ini. Jadi, yang aku tangkap adalah dia itu toner yang memiliki kandungan acids, yang terdiri dari AHA dan BHA yang dapat mengangkat sel kulit mati. Cara kerjanya mirip dengan exfoliant yang berbentuk scrub itu, kan, ya? Aku pikir ini produk yang cukup menarik untuk dicoba.

Hal selanjutnya adalah mencari produk yang tepat dengan harga yang terjangkau. Lalu, aku ingat kalau Avoskin punya exfoliating toner dan setahuku, Avoskin adalah brand lokal pertama yang memiliki produk chemical exfoliator. Maka dari itu, berawal dari rasa penasaran dan pingin segera lepas dari jerawat juga bekasnya, akhirnya pilihanku jatuh ke Avoskin Miraculous Refining Toner. Jadi, bisa dibilang ini adalah acid toner pertamaku.

Sekilas mengenai AHA, BHA, dan PHA

AHA, BHA, dan PHA merupakan jenis acid yang umum digunakan dalam produk skincare, khususnya jenis exfoliant. Acids ini bertujuan untuk mengangkat sel-sel kulit mati, membersihkan pori-pori secara mendalam, dan menjaga kelembaban kulit. Berikut aku kasih penjelasan singkat untuk tiga jenis acid ini, ya.

AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid)

AHA berfungsi untuk meningkatkan produksi kolagen, menyamarkan garis halus dan kerut, serta menjaga kelembaban kulit. Jenis AHA yang umum digunakan dalam skincare antara lain lactic acid, glycolic acid, mandelic acid, dan malic acid. AHA bisa didapat melalui ekstrak tumbuhan, susu, dan buah. AHA merupakan jenis acid yang larut dalam air dan bekerja secara efektif jika memiliki konsentrat sebesar 5%-10%. Nah, buat yang lagi bermasalah dengan bekas jerawat, AHA bisa jadi produk yang tepat untuk ditambahkan ke dalam skincare routinemu.

BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) 

Ini dia, holy grailnya para pemilik kulit berminyak dan cenderung berjerawat. BHA adalah acid yang bersifat oil-soluble sehingga mampu membersihkan pori-pori secara mendalam. Selain itu, BHA memiliki sifat anti-inflamasi. Di dalam produk skincare, BHA biasanya muncul dalam bentuk salicylic acid. Untuk dapat bekerja dengan efektif, setidaknya sebuah produk harus memiliki BHA dengan konsentrasi 1%-4%.

PHA (Poly Hydroxy Acid)

PHA merupakan jenis acid yang lebih ringan di kulit dibandingkan dengan AHA dan BHA. PHA lebih ringan karena molekulnya yang cukup besar. Sifat inilah yang membuat PHA bekerja mengangkat sel kulit mati secara perlahan. Meski bekerja secara perlahan, PHA tetap ampuh membersihkan kulit tanpa membuat kulit menjadi iritasi. Selain dapat mengeksfoliasi kulit, PHA juga mampu menjaga kelembaban kulit karena sifatnya yang humektan. Karakteristik PHA yang lain adalah anti-inflamasi dan antioxidant. Nah, buat yang kulitnya sensitif dan acne prone tapi mudah iritasi saat menggunakan AHA atau BHA, PHA bisa jadi jawaban yang tepat buat kondisi kulitmu.

Oh ya, kalau kalian pingin memasukkan exfoliating toner ke dalam skincare routine kalian, pastikan kalian juga rajin pakai sunscreennya karena acids akan membuat kulit kita sensitif terhadap sinar matahari. Juga, jangan lupa mantapkan dulu basic skincare  routinenya, oke? Basic skincare routine itu terdiri dari step cleansing-toning-moisturizing-protecting. Mungkin, kapan-kapan aku bakal bahas  lebih dalam soal CTMP ini.

About Avoskin Miraculous Refining Toner

Avoskin Miraculous Refining Toner ini merupakan salah satu produk yang terdapat dalam rangkaian Miraculous Refining Series. Series ini terdiri dari exfoliating toner dan exfoliating serum. Perbedaan antara toner dan serumnya terdapat pada persentase acidnya. Exfoliating tonernya memiliki persentase 5% AHA, 1% BHA, dan 2% PHA, sedangkan exfoliating serumnya mengandung 10% AHA, 3% BHA, 2% Niacinamide, dan Ceramide. Selain mengandung acids, toner ini juga mengandung bahan-bahan alami, seperti Aloe Vera, Tea Tree, Raspberry, dan Witch Hazel.

Packaging

Avoskin Miraculuous Refining Toner dikemas dengan botol plastik berwarna merah dengan ukuran 100 ml. Warna ini memberi kesan yang elegan. Selain itu, karena botolnya terbuat dari plastik dan ukurannya compact, bisa banget buat dibawa travelling. Jadi, nggak perlu khawatir botolnya bakal pecah atau makan tempat di dalam pouch.

Kemudian, saat kita membuka botolnya, kita akan menemukan seal tambahan yang berfungsi untuk mencegah tumpahnya cairan toner. Bagian ini yang sempat bikin aku terkecoh dan terheran-heran kenapa kok tonernya gak keluar-keluar padahal udah diputar gitu botolnya hehehe. Good job buat Avoskin buat ide penambahan seal untuk melindungi tonernya.

Ingredients+Claim

Avoskin Miraculous Refining Toner menggunakan AHA jenis glycolic acid dengan persentase 5%, BHA jenis salicylic acid dengan persentase 2%, Aloe Vera, Raspberry, Witch Hazel, Niacinamide, dan Tea Tree masing-masing persentasenya 2%. Toner ini mengklaim mampu meratakan warna kulit, memperbaiki tekstur kulit, mengeksfoliasi kulit, dan memudarkan noda-noda hitam. Klaim lain yang dimiliki Avoskin Miraculous Refining Toner adalah low pH, fragrance free, dan aman untuk pemilik kulit yang rentan berjerawat. Selain itu, toner ini dapat dipakai dua kali sehari.

Texture+Performance

Tekstur toner ini ya seperti toner pada umumnya, cair gitu. Selain itu, dia juga nggak berwarna dan beraroma. Jadi mirip air gitu deh, teksturnya. Saat dipakai pertama kali, aku nggak merasakan cekit-cekit. Malahan, aku merasa cekit-cekit di pemakaian yang kesekian. Kemudian, karena dia cair, jadi terasa ringan di wajahku.

Nah, sekarang kita memasuki bagian yang tersulit dari mereview produk ini, yaitu melihat performanya di kulitku. Ya, aku bilang sulit karena pas awal-awal beli itu pemakaiannya gak teratur gitu lho. Aku beli toner ini November 2019. Di awal pemakaian, aku pakai seminggu sekali dan di malam hari. Saat itu, aku nggak merasakan sensasi yang aneh-aneh kayak perih dan merah-merah gitu. Semua baik-baik saja. Tapi, sekitar bulan Desember, aku absen memakai toner ini karena kemalasanku (jangan ditiru, ya, fellas!) Lalu, di bulan Januari, aku mulai rutin kembali menggunakan exfoliating toner ini. Kemudian, untuk intensitas pemakaiannya, aku mengeksfoliasi kulitku dua kali seminggu dan di malam hari. Ini merupakan intensitas yang aman buat kulitku. Aku pernah coba pakai toner ini tiga kali seminggu. Lalu, aku merasa area hidungku jadi sensitif dan gatal. Kemudian, aku mencoba rehat dari toner ini selama satu minggu dan mulai pakai lagi dengan intensitas dua kali seminggu. Akhirnya, rasa gatal di hidungku mulai hilang.

Aku beli toner ini November 2019 dan sekarang kita ada di bulan Mei 2020. Itu berarti kira-kira sudah 7 bulan aku menggunakan toner ini. Nah, apa efek yang dirasakan kulitku setelah menggunakan Avoskin Miraculous Refining Toner?

1. Kadar minyak di wajah lebih terkendali
2. Kulit lebih lembab
3. Pori-pori di dagu dan hidung lebih bersih dan kalem
4. Membantu mengempeskan jerawat

Untuk efek cerah dan pudarnya dark spots itu nggak terasa di aku. Jadi, bisa dibilang aku lebih mendapatkan efek BHA-nya daripada AHA-nya. Selama memakai toner ini aku juga nggak mengalami breakout. Mantaplah pokoknya! Good job buat Avoskin yang sudah merancang exfoliating toner yang ciamik dengan harga yang affordable.

Emina Creamy Tint Shade 01 Brick Town Review + UPDATE

We all know that lip products are so tempting to have and to try, right? Although I don't have many lip products with me, I agree that one lipstick is never enough. Today, I would like to share my experience wearing a lip product from Emina, which is Emina Creamy Tint. Keep on reading!

I bought this lip cream for the sake of enjoying the 20% discount of makeup products at Guardian. I was thinking, "This is a good chance to bring another product to my vanity," but I didn't want to purchase something expensive, so I decided to purchase Emina Creamy Tint because it's still affordable for me. I chose the shade Brick Town because the beauty advisor recommended this shade. She also said that this is the most popular shade of Emina Creamy Tint. The name itself also made me curious. Is it a lip tint or a lip cream? Anyway, let's finish the chit-chat and jump to the review instead!

About Emina Creamy Tint

Creamy Tint is one of various lip products by Emina that launched on September 2019. Emina Creamy Tint has 5 shades, which are Brick Town, Sunbeam, Peach Crush, Wild Berry, and Cherry Soda. 

Packaging

The packaging is undeniably cute! The box is decorated with red brick pattern as the shade itself. When it comes to the under side of the box, we will see the BPOM number, production code, and expired date.

The bottle itself is adorable as well. It's short and covered with peach color. There is also a transparent bottom part, so we can see how much product that left in the bottle. The content of this lip cream/tint is 3.6 gram. It's quite a little amount for a lip cream.

Emina Creamy Tint comes with waterdrop applicator. It's a new thing to see since usually lip creams have the doe-foot shaped applicator. The applicator glides smoothly on my lips.

One thing that surprised me is the absence of information of  the shade and its number at the bottom of the bottle since every Emina lip products are usually equipped with this kind of information.

Ingredients+Claim

Emina Creamy Tint has a detailed information about its claim. Emina claims that this is a lip tint with a creamy texture. It will not make our lips dry because it contains avocado oil. Emina also claims that it has a light texture and matte finish. Emina's official website also states that this creamy tint will give us stained color and can last for 8 hours.

Here comes to the left side of the box, which is the ingredients. When I see the ingredients list, there are also jojoba oil, sunflower extract, macadamia oil, and honey extract. Although it contains some oils, it has a light texture.

Swatch/Performance

When I swatched this lip tint on my hand, it has a red color with a hint of brown.

When I apply it on my lips, it becomes a deep red color with brown hint (in this picture it appears more mauve-ish, but in reality, it's more reddish). It looks a bit intense on my lips, but I love it because this creamy tint really enhances my effortless makeup routine. In my opinion, the shade Brick Town is a versatile shade. You can use it for daily occasion or special occasion. Then, this lip tint sets really fast and it is not sticky.

How about the performance? Does it really last for 8 hours? For me, it lasts for 8 hours if I don't eat oily food. Then, I felt that this lip tint is transferred (but not that much) when I drank and when I ate something oily, for example nasi balap. For the texture, it is really light and creamy as it claims. Emina Creamy Tint also gives the matte finish. However, the color doesn't stain and this feels more like lip cream than lip tint. Also, although it contains oils, this lip tint slightly dries my lips, so I need to apply a thin layer of lip balm.

So, what I like about Emina Creamy Tint:
+ it's affordable, only IDR 44,000!
+ the shade is pretty and versatile
+ the texture are light and creamy
+ it sets really fast
+ the applicator glides smoothly on my lips
+ it doesn't need a big room in your makeup pouch

Now, what I don't like about Emina Creamy Tint:
- it is a bit drying for my lips, so I need to apply lip balm before applying this lip tint
- it's not a transferproof lip product

Nivea Sun Protect & White Oil Control Serum SPF 50+ PA+++ Review

Mungkin kamu udah dengerin atau baca berjuta-juta kali mengenai pentingnya menggunakan sunscreen. Yup, sunscreen memang sudah seharusnya menjadi produk basic dalam skincare routinemu. Udah gak perlu diraguin lagi, deh manfaat sunscreen tuh, mulai dari meratakan warna kulit hingga mencegah tanda-tanda penuaan. Ya, bisa dibilang sunscreen adalah skincare anti-aging terbaik. Oh iya, untuk memaksimalkan proteksinya, sebaiknya pilih sunscreen yang bersifat broad-spectrum agar terlindungi dari UVA+UVB.

Pada kesempatan kali ini, aku mau me-review sunscreen dari Nivea, yaitu Nivea Sun Protect & White Oil Control Serum SPF 50+ PA+++. Nggak disangka kalau sunscreen ini menjadi sunscreen favoritku. Bagaimana sih pengalamanku menggunakan sunscreen ini? Keep on reading!

1. Packaging

Nivea Sun Protect & White Oil Control Serum memiliki kemasan berbentuk tube putih dengan tutup ulir berwarna biru. Warna tutup ulirnya memang disesuaikan dengan variannya. Jika varian Oil Control berwarna biru, varian Instant Aura tutupnya berwarna baby pink. Tubenya termasuk tinggi dan ramping sehingga cukup menghemat space baik di rak skincare atau di pouch makeup.

Di bagian belakang tube terdapat keterangan produk yang tertulis dalam bahasa Thailand. Selain itu juga terdapat klaim produk seperti Double UV Protection, Perfect Make-Up Preparation, dan ingredients utama produk ini seperti, L-Carnitine Oil Control dan Licorice Extract. Di bagian belakang tube juga tertera ukuran produk ini yaitu 30 ml.

Sekarang kita bakal bahas bagian belakang kardusnya. Di sini tertera penjelasan mengenai empat klaim Nivea Sun Protect & White Oil Control Serum yang juga terdapat di bagian belakang tube. Tapi di sini ditambahkan informasi mengenai ingredients, cara pakai, ukuran produk, dan produsennya.

Nivea Sun Protect & White Oil Control Serum SPF 50+ PA+++ memiliki semacam corong kecil untuk memudahkan pengambilan produk dan untuk meminimalkan kemungkinan produk yang terbuang dan berceceran di mulut tubenya. Secara pribadi, aku suka kemasan yang model begini, gak khawatir bakal ambil produk kebanyakan dan bisa ngirit juga.

2. Ingredients

Nivea Sun Protect & White Oil Control Serum ini menggunakan UV filter seperti, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Homosalate, Octocrylene, dan Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane. Dengan demikian, sunscreen Nivea termasuk chemical sunscreen atau organic sunscreen. Lebih lanjut, ada juga beberapa ingredients yang menarik untuk diketahui, seperti:

L-Carnitine: berfungsi sebagai oil control

Licorice extract or Glycyrrhiza inflata root extract: untuk acne-fighting 

Menurut web SkinCarisma, produk ini paraben-free, sulfate-free, dan fungal acne safe. Namun, perlu diingat bahwa sunscreen ini cukup tinggi kandungan alcohol denatnya yang notabene merupakan salah satu jenis bad alcohol yang terdapat dalam produk skincare. Bisa dilihat dari susunan komposisinya di mana alcohol denat terletak di urutan tujuh teratas. Alcohol denat berfungsi sebagai pengawet dan menjadikan produk bertekstur cream terasa lebih ringan di kulit. 

Efek dari alcohol denat terasa ketika aku sedang berada di bis yang ber-AC. Saat itu, wajahku terasa kencang dan tertarik. Maka dari itu, aku mau menyarankan kalian yang dalam kesehariannya beraktivitas di ruangan ber-AC untuk menggunakan pelembab terlebih dahulu baru disusul dengan penggunaan sunscreen Nivea ini.

3. Texture

Nivea Sun Serum ini hadir dalam bentuk krim berwarna putih. Teksturnya ringan dan tidak lengket di wajah. Aromanya juga lembut dan tidak mengganggu indera penciuman. Oh iya, aku tidak tahu apakah semua sun products Nivea memiliki aroma yang seragam karena aroma Nivea Sun Serum mirip seperti aroma sunblock Nivea yang pernah kupakai saat masih kecil dulu. Selain itu, produk ini juga memiliki kemiripan aroma dengan L'Oreal UV Perfect Matte and Fresh. 

Karena teksturnya yang berbentuk krim, sunscreen ini bisa digunakan dengan metode dua jari. Kalau di aku, sunscreen sebanyak dua jari hanya cukup untuk wajah. Untuk leher dan daerah sekitar telinga, aku perlu menambahnya lagi agar proteksinya maksimal.

My Review

Bisa dibilang, ini adalah sunscreen ternyaman yang pernah kucoba. Teksturnya tidak berat di wajah, tidak menimbulkan whitecast, dan aromanya pun enak juga! Dipakai di bawah make-up pun masih aman. Harganya pun terjangkau, sekitar 50 ribu hingga 60 ribuan dan bisa didapat dengan mudah di minimarket. Hanya saja, kandungan alcohol denatnya membuat wajahku tertarik saat berada di tempat ber-AC, tapi ini bisa diakali dengan penggunaan moisturizer sebelumnya.

 Welcome to rainy season, everyone! I hope that you're okay no matter where you are. You know what? Rainy season can affect our skin condition. Some people might experience a drier skin, while others' might experience a dehydrated skin. If you are experiencing some changes in your skin, these are things that you can do to balance your skin during this season.

1. Apply your sunscreen at every season, every day
Seriously, guys, it's an essential skincare item to begin with. Just because it's cloudy outside, doesn't mean that the sun can't penetrate to the skin. The UV rays can penetrate through clouds and damage our skin. So, apply a good amount of broad-spectrum sunscreen before you go outside.

2. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize

First, I will start with the aroma. For me, Glysolid Glycerin Cream has a soft aroma. For the texture, it's kinda too thick for me. It seems that this cream only sits on my skin. Actually, I made a mistake by applying the cream as I apply the body lotion. As a result, my hands and feet feel so sticky and it gets uncomfortable when I sit on the floor because the floor gets sticky as well. Hahaha. Silly me :D

However, I feel the improvement on my feet and elbow. I can feel that those area are instantly moisturized after I rubbed this Glysolid Glycerin Cream.

After using this several times, I might say that this cream might be suitable for those who struggle with an extremely dry skin. For those who have normal skin and still want to use this product, please put only the small amount of it on the parts that are prone to dryness, such as elbow, knee, and heels.
